NEWS: "Skwot Above", Dean's surreal little show is up on YouTube! Attend the wisdom of cosmic outer space traveler Master Asteroidhead as he observes Earth and questions humans' beliefs, their knowledge of their own origin, and why they behave the way they do. With music by The Irritants, it's Essential Enlightenment Through Electronic Entertainment! http://www.youtube.com/@skwotabove13
“PROJECT VICTOR” is still in production! Dean's traditionally animated 2D work - all hand-done with music by The Irritants. Visit the ANIMATED WORKS Page for a little work-in-progress video. Follow the production at Facebook, tumblr, and at Twitter.
WARNING: Folks seeing Dean's animation for the first time are prone to bodily damage - jaws crashing to the floor, sprained eye stems, brains exploding, mostly. We won't discuss the sphincter control issues. Check with your medical insurance...
When the sideline that is The Irritants isn't occupying Dean's dreamtime he's busy crafting award-winning animation...while simultaniously perfecting his studio burn. Meticulous, (I'm not saying obsessive - who said obsessive?) Dean spends years on each project, often mastering new technology with each new piece. But tools are tools - be it a cigarette butt, clay, or the latest wet dream software to tame the hand-drawn animation - the hairy root of the art is in outrage, fear, and longing. Dean propels us gleefully headlong through his dreams and midnight visitations, bedazzled with brainstem-twisting images, exploring the impetus and impediments of creativity, the morass of social stupidity and evil, and the dangerous and painful search for identity and - good luck - meaning in this back to front, upside down, Left to Write world.
