THE IRRITANTS
"SKULLCAPACTION!" release date: November 27, 2015 produced by: Dean Kendrick and The Irritants at RELEVANT IMPERTINENCE PRODUCTIONS Chicago BLUE STUDIO PRODUCTIONS Chicago VELVETSHIRT STUDIO Highland Park,IL The Irritants 2015 recording, "SKULLCAPACTION!" was 15 years in the making (sort of)! Enjoy more of THE IRRITANTS' brand of underground rock complete with plenty o' raw bite-radius guitar, unwanted dark satire and cruel irony, whizzing soundscapes, and more cowbell. Featuring new fab guest artists, some returning old fiends and a plethora of looney and distraught foundsound editworks presented in Harsh-O-Phonic sound, "SKULLCAPACTION!" is a soon-to-be lost soundtrack to a toontime nightmare and is, of course, a guaranteed warning of fun. "SKULLCAPACTION!" was produced as a complete entertainment from start to finish and it is intended by the band to be heard this way rather than being heard as single cuts separated by unintended pauses of indeterminate lengths and/or with reordered or shuffled tracks. "SKULLCAPACTION!" runs like an engaging theatre of the mind edited for said purpose to provide maximum replay value as a total album. |

"BUTTERFLIES AND ALIENS" release date: 2001 produced by: Dean Kendrick and The Irritants at EDGE STUDIOS Chicago ULTRASUEDE STUDIO Cincinnati THE LIVING ROOM Cincinnati The Irritants 2001 recording, "BUTTERFLIES AND ALIENS", is a disturbing wonderland necessary for the politically frustrated and poignant to the religiously ambiguous like their previous works, but this go-round, The Irritants have taken a more mature, biting, and darker turn in their songwriting and production values. Though still dotted with impertinence and solid underground rock and popness, "BUTTERFLIES AND ALIENS" features brilliant guest artists that help to stir this album into a liquid polished, genre-scavenging stew worthy of a wandering troupe of wretched, yet musically-inclined fweebs. "BUTTERFLIES AND ALIENS" is a complete entertainment from start to finish and it is intended by the band to be heard this way rather than being heard as single cuts separated by unintended pauses of indeterminate lengths and/or with reordered or shuffled tracks. THE IRRITANTS
"BRICK" release date: 1994 produced by: Dean Kendrick and The Irritants originally recorded by the boys on several portable 4-track audio cassette recorders in beautiful Chicagoland The Irritants 1994 recording, "BRICK", is a musical endeavor of phenomenal indie proportions containing but not limited to short ditties, tasty rock crackers, silly blather, curious noise, and a great big bucket of tar. Necessary for the politically frustrated and poignant to the religiously ambiguous, The Irritants were/are light years ahead of their alternative-alternative contemporaries with music based on classic, organ throbbing rock mixed generously and unforgettably with any and all other genres that struck the fevered brains of it's creative participants. "BRICK", like The Irritants' earlier works, satisfies Moral Majority dissenters and dissers who crave mindful fodder for their headspaces. "BRICK" is a complete entertainment from start to finish and it is intended by the band to be heard this way rather than being heard as single cuts separated by unintended pauses of indeterminate lengths and/or with reordered or shuffled tracks. THE IRRITANTS
"HARSH" (1985-1992) release date: 1999 produced by Dean Kendrick originally recorded by the boys on several portable 4-track audio cassette recorders in beautiful Chicagoland digitally remixed from the original master tapes at BLUE STUDIO PRODUCTIONS Atlanta The Irritants 1999 release, "HARSH"; a compilation of raw, home-grown wickedness and wholly impertinent mischievousness from the early days of the band (1985-1992). Culled from The Irritants first four releases (which are currently unavailable to the public at large): "MOTION DISCOMFORT" (1988), "BITE ME I'M HOME" (1989), "WHAT GIVES?" (1990), and "THE THREE HEMISPHERES OF SANTAPEDE'S VILLAGE (1992), "HARSH" is a rubber-heartfelt, foolish but funnish attempt at remastering a selected collection of short songs, comedic interludes, and experimental noise created on primitive, lo-fi, home 4-track cassette tapes. Necessary for the politically frustrated and poignant to the religiously ambiguous, The Irritants early works were/are light years ahead of the alternative and grunge movements, based on classic, organ throbbing rock mixed generously and unforgettably with any and all other genres that struck the fevered brains of it's sickly creative participants. Presenting inviting (yet still irritating) melodies with fiercely solid drumming, wallpaper-shredding rips, and rollicking wildness track after track, "HARSH" is a must for anti-establishment souls with oh-so-hungry ears. Not merely a party album, "HARSH" is a complete entertainment from start to finish and it is intended by the band to be heard this way rather than as single cuts separated by unintended pauses of indeterminate lengths and/or with reordered or shuffled tracks. "HARSH" runs like an engaging theatre of the mind edited for said purpose to provide maximum replay value as a total album. |
